First Presbyterian
supports four missionaries and their families
Frank
& Nancy Dimmock.
Frank
Dimmock is a health consultant for Africa, assisting health
associations in eight countries where the PC (USA) has partnerships:
Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Congo, Madagascar, and
Cameroon. Now based in Lesotho, Frank helps the associations
address common problems. The Dimmocks have been under
appointment
since 1985 and have also served in Congo and Malawi. |
Mike
&
Nancy Haninger.
Since 2000 the Haningers have served with the Good Shepherd
Hospital in Tshikaji, where Mike is an OB-GYN physician.
Besides
training medical students, he also does direct patient care and public
health work, with special concern for the prevention and repair of
obstetric fistulas. Nancy, a health educator, promotes the
use of
the highly nutritious leaves of the moringa tree to combat malnutrition. |
Nita
Pride.
Nita has served with
Campus Crusade for Christ since 1972. She served on US
campuses,
overseas in Eastern Europe, and for the last 15 years with the Military
Ministry of Campus Crusade. She leads a team of missionary
staff
who serve our military chaplains, commanders, troops and families in
the Hampton Roads Area. Nita grew up at First Presbyterian
and
has been one of our missionaries for many years. |
Tom
&
Nancy Rach. Tom and
Nancy serve in one of the poorest states in Mexico, the
southern
state of Chiapas. They minister to the poor using
agricultural
& community develop-ment projects (sanitation and water
technologies) combined with Bible studies and kids clubs.
They
work in partnership with the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico and
other local Christians. The Rach’s have two sons:
David and
Joey. |
