Confirmation Class Trip to Washington DC

   Confirmation classes are offered each year for our seventh and eighth graders from January through May.  The students meet weekly on Sunday mornings to prepare to “confirm” the faith promises their parents made for them when they were baptized as young children.  On Pentecost Sunday, the youth stand before the congregation in worship and profess their faith in Jesus Christ, and are received into membership of the church.

  We use “Professing Our Faith:  A Confirmation Curriculum” from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as a study guide.  Classes are led by the minister and several members of the church.  We supplement the classes with a retreat and service projects in the church and community.  Each student also chooses a mentor to help guide him or her through the confirmation process.  We believe that the youth are not just the future of the church, they are the church at its best, full of enthusiasm and ready to serve as disciples of Jesus Christ.
